PlAy-AlOnG Plink & Boo

How to play-along

Some might be Plink and others are Boo. Why does it matter, what’s the to-do?Jumbled up people and boxes too small. Come play in our den and discover it all...

A digital & physical circus-theatre experience for 2-7 year olds and their families.

Welcome to the topsy turvy world of ‘Plink and Boo’. Using acrobatics, live music and mountains of toys, join us in an interactive circus theatre adventure to explore what happens when people don’t fit into boxes (even if it is the neatest place to put them!).

Step 1
Start by watching the videos below to make your props & build your theatre den.

Step 2
Get comfy, press play and let the show begin!

STEP ONE

Before watching the performance we invite you to find or make some simple props from around your house. During the show you'll use these to play along with what's happening on the screen, from the comfort of your own home.

Build a theatre den

Why not make the occasion special by building your very own theatre den to watch the show from?

Youngest member of the ‘Can't Sit Still’ team Thea, shows you how, using everyday items you can find at home. We love to see pictures of your dens - send them via our social links.

Make your own props

In this video our set designer, Laura, show you how to make 5 simple props from items around your house that will help you to interact with the show, when you watch it.

We've also created an activity pack which includes printable pages for the ticket, tiara and car pictures. Download it here.

ps.

Do as much as you have time for, and don't worry about the rest. As parents ourselves, we know anyone looking after children is likely to be busy! You'll still have a great time watching the show with or without the props and den.

SteP tWo… enJOy!

“An imaginative, stereotype-busting home theatre experience that can’t be confined... It’s equal parts theatre, comic book and circus – a hybrid unlike any children’s show we’ve seen... [it's] threatening to burst out of the screen”

 Accessibility

We want our shows to be accessible to everyone. We made these videos for people who might like to know more about what to expect from this experience.

Play-Along Plink and Boo uses minimal text. The performers use Sign Supported English (SSE) to accompany the few words that are used. The animation in the film helps to illustrate the sounds and music used, as well as creatively captioning the text.

Play-Along Plink & Boo has previously been shown by the following venues:

Freedom Festival, Hull / Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival / Dancing Oxford Festival / The Place, Bedford / ARC, Stockton / Pound Arts, Corsham / Gloucestershire Libraries / The Lowry, Manchester / Wiltshire Creative / Luton's Feb Fest / The Spring, Havant / z-arts, Manchester / The Civic, Barnsley / Cambridge Junction
